Time travel, a mainstay of speculative fiction for more than a century, can offer insight into and reflection on key aspects of trauma, such as bodily dissociation and perseverative memory. It appears that I will also be co-hosting the Alternate Universe acceptance speeches, alongside the incomparable Lindsay Ellis, immediately following the awards ceremony on Sunday night. Many of this year’s finalists are joining us virtually!
And whatever time we have left in the ballroom after that will be devoted to karaoke.
Honestly, I’m just hoping to spend most of next weekend barconning (outdoors, please and thank you) with lots of cool folks that I haven’t been able to see in person for the last few years. If you’re unable to join us in Anaheim, I hope to see you online at some point!
