{"id":99,"date":"2015-03-11T12:48:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T19:48:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curtiscchen.com\/journal\/2015\/03\/11\/i-have-been-married-for-ten-years\/"},"modified":"2015-03-11T12:48:00","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T19:48:00","slug":"i-have-been-married-for-ten-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curtiscchen.com\/journal\/2015\/03\/11\/i-have-been-married-for-ten-years\/","title":{"rendered":"I Have Been Married for Ten Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our <a href=\"http:\/\/snout.org\/wedding\/\">wedding<\/a> anniversary date is actually tomorrow, but what with leap years and Daylight Saving Time and whatnot, I figure today&#8217;s close enough to call it.<\/p>\n<p>This past weekend, we attended the wedding of our friends <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theknot.com\/wedding\/Kenna-Ryan\">Kenna and Ryan<\/a> (whom I affectionately call <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kidnap_and_ransom_insurance\">&#8220;K&amp;R&#8221;<\/a>&#8211;I am, as you might expect, <i>the only one<\/i> who does this). You can search for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?f=realtime&amp;q=%23conkapotts&amp;src=typd\">#ConkaPotts<\/a> on Twitter to get some idea of how fabulous it was. Being at another early-March wedding (which also featured a unity candle, and had a tabletop-game-centric &#8220;after-party&#8221; instead of dancing) reminded me a lot of our own celebration.<\/p>\n<p>It really doesn&#8217;t feel like it&#8217;s been a whole decade. Our lives have changed quite a bit&#8211;we&#8217;re living in a different place now, working different jobs, hanging out with different friends&#8211;but the most important things haven&#8217;t changed. We still enjoy each other&#8217;s company, even if it&#8217;s sitting on the couch while I watch <i>Arrow<\/i> and she plays games on her iPad. We always want to share <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/peachesanscream\/status\/573520515824029698\">our favorite things<\/a> with each other.
