And I&#8217;m starting to recognize the structure and the tropes in other works.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Outland_%28film%29\"><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">Outland<\/span><\/a>, anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?<\/p>\n<p>Also:  I recently started reading <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">Scalped<\/span>, based on a recommendation from Kurt Busiek.  I liked it fine to start, but then I hit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comicvine.com\/scalped-my-ambitionz-az-a-ridah\/37-121926\/\">issue 10<\/a>, and now I&#8217;m hooked.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:bold;\">Read <a href=\"http:\/\/snout.org\/512.46\">&#8220;Don&#8217;t Fence Me In&#8221;<\/a> at <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">512 Words or Fewer<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>~CKL<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am not generally a fan of the Western genre, but I did love Firefly and Deadwood.
