We saw quite a few people at the GC Summit, but also did our best to squeeze in other visits&#8211;which is how we ended up having breakfast, dessert, tea, and dinner, pretty much one right after the other, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>We went to opening night of Foothill College&#8217;s production of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foothill.edu\/fa\/bee\/\"><span style=\"font-style:italic;\">The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee<\/span><\/a>, which is a great show, and made even more hilarious by my fellow Richter Scale <a href=\"http:\/\/www.richterscales.com\/david\">David Mister<\/a>, who plays William Barf&eacute;e; had lunch with <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ladypauline\">Pauline<\/a> and Brian, who just got engaged (she ran a birthday\/proposal treasure hunt for him, <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">natch<\/span>); and I got in-person critiques from various &#8220;beta readers&#8221; on my novel manuscript.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, on our way home, we stopped at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bubbling-well.com\/\">Bubbling Well Pet Memorial Park<\/a> in Napa to scatter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snout.org\/hotsheet\/2009\/12\/bayla-died-yesterday.html\">Bayla<\/a>&#8216;s ashes.  That was the reason we drove instead of flying.  I&#8217;m glad we did it.  Bubbling Well is the same place where <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snout.org\/hotsheet_classic\/20021025.shtml\">Amber<\/a> was laid to rest, and now our girls are together again.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/snout.org\/HotSheet\/CKL.jpg\" alt=\"CKL\" title=\"CKL\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, D and I drove down to the San Francisco bay area for the Game Control Summit and to see friends.
