I just sent off a character breakdown sheet for the director, which was yet another new and exciting thing for me.  <i>w00t!<\/i><\/p>\n<p>And since this blog post is probably the closest I&#8217;ll ever come to making an acceptance speech at an awards show, here&#8217;s the long list of people who helped make this script even possible:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>my parents, who indulged my comic-book habit all through my adolescence;<\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytvf.com\/\">NYTVF<\/a> Comedy Script Contest, for which I wrote the crappy first draft;<\/li>\n<li>Bryan and Raj, who gave me feedback on that crappy first draft;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/hotsheet.snout.org\/2008\/11\/me-and-ken-levine.html\">Ken Levine&#8217;s Sitcom Room<\/a> workshop, which taught me almost everything I know about comedy writing;<\/li>\n<li>Amber, Roberta, Sally, and Sarah from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monticelloantiques.com\/?page_id=13\">Monti&#8217;s Cafe<\/a> writing group;<\/li>\n<li>Dave and Tim from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/search?q=%23sundaycrits\">#sundaycrits<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>everyone at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sff.net\/paradise\/\">Viable Paradise<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ballybran.org\/vp\/08xii\/\">XII<\/a>, who showed me how to <strike>drink<\/strike> give and accept critiques;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/richterscales.com\/\">The Richter Scales<\/a>, who let me get away with all manner of absurdity on stage for almost eight years;<\/li>\n<li>all the other writers in the <a href=\"http:\/\/stanfordinentertainment.org\/\">SIE<\/a> competition, who rated my script and gave great notes; and<\/li>\n<li>most of all, my wife <b>DeeAnn<\/b>, always.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In other good news, speaking of DeeAnn, she&#8217;s just picked up a six-week consulting gig.  It&#8217;ll pay very well, but she&#8217;ll be down in the Bay Area for at least the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s okay.  We always expected to travel: we selected our current housing situation because it&#8217;s less than fifteen minutes from PDX airport.
