This was the first Seattle-based Game we&#8217;d played in, and it was fun to see new locations and interact with a slightly different community.<\/p>\n<p>As with any first-time GC, the organizers tried to distinguish themselves by incorporating new elements not traditionally part of The Game:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday night dinner and activities;\n<li>quarterly &#8220;pit stops&#8221; with food, drink, and activities;\n<li>a complicated, non-linear, point-based scoring system (final results not yet released);\n<li>a trading card side game which was intended to promote team interactions; and\n<li>explicit, forced skipping to keep all teams to a very tight schedule.<\/ul>\n<p>Some things worked well, and others, not so much.  In any case, it was a commendable effort, and we definitely got our money&#8217;s worth.<\/p>\n<p>A more complete write-up will come after I&#8217;ve gotten some sleep.  And yes, my biceps are pretty sore, after floating down the river in an inner tube to read a series of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anbg.gov.au\/flags\/signal-flags.html\">marine signal flags<\/a> hanging from both banks.
