Here&#8217;s a followup:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.snout.org\/hotsheet\/uploaded_images\/PSP_008579_9020_descent_800-600-726206.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snout.org\/hotsheet\/uploaded_images\/PSP_008579_9020_descent_800-600-726202.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s another shot, also taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, of the Phoenix lander, this time falling about 12 miles in front of the 6-mile wide crater &#8220;Heimdall.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why is this so cool?  Well, aside from the fact that <span style=\"font-style:italic;\">we landed a spacecraft on Mars<\/span>, both of those objects were moving at ridiculous speeds when the photos were taken.
